Contact Center Training Program

Our Contact Center training program offers assessment and skill building in the customer service arena, including handling inbound or outbound calls. As an extension of our clerical Customer Service training program, participants can gain experience training at Orion's Contact Center's reception area taking calls, greeting visitors and performing administrative tasks for the center.

Program participants earn minimum wage.

Each program participant works closely with a Contact Center staff member and a vocational counselor to monitor progress and address any obstacles to employment.

We offer both assessment and training in this program:

Orion staff work with participants to assess their readiness to enter the workforce and return to work:

Specific skill training in customer service, computer use and administrative support skills.

Dress Code:

Students are expected to wear business casual attire for the program (khakis, slacks, dress shirts, sweaters etc.). Jeans are allowed on Fridays.

Orion contracts with third parties for sponsorship. Program participants are not charged a fee for program participation.

Hours in this program are varied and may include weekdays, weekends and evenings. Discuss any needed scheduling accommodations with your intake counselor.

Entrance Requirements:

Orion accepts applications from funded sources first. Applicants must first complete all admissions requirements including tour, intake paperwork, background check and drug screen with results prior to admission. If Orion is encountering a wait list for services, applicant start dates are determined by date of application and schedule requests (if part time). Start dates are typically each Monday, but there is flexibility if needed with this process. Requests for accomodations should be discussed with your Orion vocational counselor upon tour and interview and will be considered on an individual basis.
