Susan, Orion Manufacturing Training Program Graduate.

Susan

Susan started in the Part Marking division at Cascade Gasket in October 2013. While Susan began her employment through a staffing contract, she quickly demonstrated her fit to the culture, and how her skills, learned at Orion, would make her an asset to Cascade Gasket.  She was brought on as a permanent employee within a few months.

Orion and Cascade Gasket have had a long term relationship, and
Susan was a great representative of Orion's training program. Cascade Gasket liked what she did. Her performance has helped Orion maintain an open door between Orion and Cascade Gasket.

Susan's job is very detail oriented and demanding. She is responsible for marking each part by putting a number on each side, so that each part can be identified. Quality is essential, so she then makes sure that the ink used to mark each part is not smudged and remains legible. Recently, she took on additional responsibilities, and is in charge of assembling clamp blocks, verifying the certification for each component and correctly labeling each for packing.

Susan credits Orion for the support and training that have allowed her to be successful at Cascade Gasket.

Josh at work on the Orion manufacturing floor.

Josh would like to find a position with an area employer that will use his strong computer skills, customer service skills and the new skills he has gained at Orion.

Prior to joining Orion, Josh worked as a part time courtesy clerk for one of the local grocery chains for 4 years. Although that was a good position for Josh while he was in school, he is now seeking a full time position. Josh has been a participant in our Manufacturing Training Program since January 2014. While at Orion Josh received training in shipping, component assembly, packaging and machine operation. Josh also just finished our forklift training and he is looking forward to sharing his new skills with his future employer.

Josh has really impressed everyone at Orion and received the production worker of the month award for May 2014.

If you are interested in learning more about Josh and his skills please feel free to contact Laura Fogle by phone at (253) 661-7805 ext. 290 or laura.fogle@orionworks.org.
