Janet needed work. She discovered Orion through Battlefield Addiction, a local nonprofit that supports family members of loved ones struggling with addiction. Inspired by her grandfather, an assembler for Boeing, she toured our aerospace manufacturing facility — and without knowing it, started on a path to a permanent career.
While at Orion Janet received one-on-one training and mentorship in Clamp Block, Chaku, Part Mark, Kitting, Shipping, Receiving, and Planning.

“Working on the production floor and in production control exposed me to both sides of a work order, and really let me understand the process!” Janet says. “My mentors were able to customize the training program for me, which gave me extra learning opportunities, allowing me to deepen my knowledge. I got so much more support than I ever thought I would.”
Janet now works at the new Skookum Aerospace Manufacturing facility in Kent, formerly the Provail Fabrication Division, and she credits her Orion training with helping her earn her position there.
