Meet Shayne, an Orion Community Inclusion client. One thing you need to know about Shayne: he really, really likes cats.
Shayne lives in a group home, however. No cats allowed.
So his job coach, Kristen, worked with him to land a volunteer position at Purrfect Pals in his town of Arlington, WA. And here’s a little something to know about cats: the best way to prepare them for adoption? Socialization — or, in other words, playtime. And that’s where Shayne comes in.
Shayne loves his time playing with the cats, and even doing housekeeping tasks around the building like window washing. It’s good for the cats, obviously. And it’s also good for the community, to have this role be staffed by a person of such enthusiasm and commitment.
